Corporate Partnership Activation Internship - Binghamton Senators (Binghamton, NY)

The Binghamton Senators are currently seeking a Corporate Partnership Activation intern for the summer 20016-17 season. Our goal is to maintain an intern program that is beneficial to both the person and the organization. With this internship, we are looking for someone who can help ensure that we are fulfilling our corporate partners needs. Candidate must be organized, creative, and have the ability to communicate to our most valued clients. We are looking for someone who wants to be a star in the sports industry and is looking to gain some experience before entering this very competitive industry. This internship will provide vast knowledge of how professional sports organizations and their corporate sales departments function to help retain current clients and gain new clients.

Duties:

  • Assist in the daily operations of the Senators Sponsorship Sales department
  • Assist staff in implementing marketing elements of current corporate sponsors
  • Assist in servicing corporate sponsors and other clients
  • Assist with marketing and promotional campaigns for the sales department
  • Creating and maintaining sponsorship department databases and spreadsheets
  • Maintain an organized profile of clients and inventory
  • Ensure all artwork for clients is correct
  • Develop and implement programs for lead generation
  • Research and generate sales leads
  • Create sponsorship fulfillment books
  • Assist with Ticketmaster Ticketing program and help answer phones
  • Requirements:
  • Work up to at least 20 to 40 hours a week in the Senators office
  • Must maintain professional attitude and appearance, and willing to work hard
  • Must be college student, working towards a career in sports management
  • Preference given to those who wish to work in sales

Video Production Internship - Bridgeport Sound Tigers (Bridgeport, CT)

POSITION OVERVIEW
The Video Production Intern will be working with the Video/Game Operations Manager as well as the Marketing & Sales departments. Interns will be creating & managing video content for the Bridgeport Sound Tigers & Harbor Yard Sports & Entertainment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Provide video content and highlights for the Sound Tigers to be used in social media and during live game presentation.
• Assist staff with video room responsibilities
• Assist with computer logging and editing game footage.
• Assist with additional duties that may present themselves over the course of the season

REQUIRED SKILLS, EXPERIENCE, AND ABILITIES
The qualifications listed below represent the credentials necessary to perform the essential functions of this position.

• The ideal candidate must have great communication skills, be professional and be able to multi-task.
• Applicant must be able to work on Mac and PC platforms.
• Candidate must be a quick learner, enjoy a fast paced environment and be able to work a variety of hours.
• Must receive college credit
• Must have experience using video cameras and equipment

Ticket Sales and Customer Service Internship - Stockton Heat (Stockton, CA)

The Stockton Heat are currently seeking a Ticket Sales/Customer Service intern for the 2016 off-season. Our goal is to maintain an intern program that is beneficial to both the student and the organization. The most important department in any professional sports organization is the ticket sales department. Most jobs in the industry, especially most entry-level jobs, are in the ticket sales area. Therefore, it is imperative that those who wish to work in professional sports have a background, knowledge, and love for selling tickets and the ticket selling process. For this position, the focus will be on helping the ticket sales department in its daily activities, including customer service and ticket processing. This internship will give the intern a vast knowledge of how professional sports organizations, especially minor league organizations, increase their ticket sales with season and group tickets.  Please note this is an UNPAID internship, college credit accepted.

Duties:

  • Assist in the daily operations of the Heat Ticket Sales department
  • Learn ticket sales process
  • Enter and Import Data into team CRM
  • Creation and distribution of group sales marketing materials
  • Assist with marketing and promotional campaigns for the ticket sales department
  • Assist ticket department with season ticket holder or group sales mailings
  • Creating and maintaining ticket department databases and spreadsheets
  • Maintain an organized profile of clients and prospects
  • Develop and implement programs for lead generation
  • Research and generate sales leads
  • Provide customer service to season ticket holders and implement customer relations programs both on and off site
  • Assist in servicing season ticket holders and other clients
  • Assist the sales staff in regard to their clerical duties
  • Perform all other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Work at least 20 hours a week in the Heat office
  • Some weekend work required including working Heat Information Booths at Fairs and Festivals. 
  • Must maintain professional attitude and appearance, and willing to work hard
  • Must be college student, working towards a career in sports management
  • Preference given to those who wish to work in ticket sales
  • Must have a valid state issued ID and legally able to work in the United States

This position is responsible for assisting the Media Relations Manager with day-to-day duties. Semester or full season available. Must be taken for school credit.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The following lists the primary essential functions of this position. THIS DESCRIPTION MAY NOT BE ALL INCLUSIVE. OTHER DUTIES MAY BE ASSIGNED AS NEEDED.

• The daily maintenance and upkeep of team statistical and sports information
• Assisting in the production of game-day notes and press packets for media
• Providing content for and maintenance of the Penguins’ web and social media initiatives
• Providing game-time information for on and off-site media
• Composing and writing post-game recaps
• Assisting with the creation and implementation of public relations efforts
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor

Candidates must have:

• High School Diploma
• Strong verbal and writing skills
• Ability to multitask
• Strong work ethic
• Basic knowledge of hockey
• Flexible hours and availability on nights and weekends
