The Binghamton Senators, the AHL affiliate of the Ottawa Senators, are seeking game day interns to assist our Director of Game Operations for the 2016-17 season. This is an unpaid position, however candidates have the opportunity to receive credit for their experience. This internship will give candidate a vast knowledge of how professional sports organizations, especially minor league organizations, provide world class entertain, and give you a behind the scenes look on how to execute game night elements.  There are 10 internship opportunities available.

Duties:

  • Assist during the game day presentation wherever assigned and needed whether it is in the concourse, in the stands, on the ice, etc.
  • Assist with the planning and execution of the game day experience

The Binghamton Senators are currently seeking two (2) media relations interns for the 2016-17 American Hockey League season. This will be a hands-on internship, providing interns the chance to gain real experience in the field. This internship position will be responsible for assisting the Director of Media/Community Relations with a variety of tasks including:

• Maintaining excellent working relationships with all local and regional media outlets.
• Coordinate and write content for game night programs.
• Manage press room and press box for ALL B-Sens home games.
• Serve as game night gate attendant at media/press entrance to Arena.
• Game tracking and out-of-town scoreboard distribution to all press box members during intermissions and post-game.
• Assist in any working media requests during games.
• Facilitate all media requests at games.
• Oversee team photography program and video footage archive.
• Continue ongoing research of team, players, history, etc.
• Coordinate B-Sens’ player media appearances.
• Establish and manage production and distribution of credentials.

The Binghamton Senators are currently seeking Ticket Sales interns for the 2016-17 season. Our goal is to maintain an internship program that is beneficial to both the student and the organization. The most important department in any professional sports organization is the ticket sales department. Most jobs in the industry, especially most entry-level jobs, are in the ticket sales area. Therefore, it is imperative that those who wish to work in professional sports have a background, knowledge, and love for selling tickets and the ticket selling process. This internship will give the intern a vast knowledge of how professional sports organizations, especially minor league organizations, increase their ticket sales with season and group tickets. The Grand Rapids Griffins, top affiliate of the Detroit Red Wings, are looking for energetic, professional, and self-motivated people seeking to gain real-world experience while positioning themselves for a career in sports business, where prior experience is looked at as highly desirable by organizations within the industry. The Game Night Intern will be trained in all aspects of ticket processing and customer service. Primary Responsibilities:

This entry-level internship will include game-related duties and responsibilities within the Griffins Ticket Operations, Ticket Sales and Game Operations Departments, including:

Ticket Operations

- Assist in Box Office set-up, ticket sales, will call, and customer service duties on selected game nights.

Ticket Sales Intern - Milwaukee Admirals (Milwaukee, WI)

Milwaukee Admirals Ticket Sales Internship

2016-17 Season – September to May

The Admirals Ticket Sales Department will be looking for three of the most qualified future sports business professionals to assist the full-time staff during the 2016-17 season. Intern’s time with the Admirals will consist of seven week stints in each of three areas. Duties will be performed both in the office and at the UW Milwaukee Panther Arena for 38 homes games.

Season Ticket Sales Component

The Admirals season ticket philosophy is based on building relationships and walking fans up the season ticket staircase. The first step of the staircase is our flex plans and relationships are built and strengthened through interaction. The interaction will occur in face to face conversations during our games and talking with fans on the phone. With plenty of training and encouragement, each ticket sales intern will be asked to introduce our newest fans to our various Flex Plans and help them become Season Ticket Holders.

Responsibilities:

  • Set-up and staff the sales booth on game nights.
  • Assisting Admirals staff with fulfillment of Season Ticket Holder perks.
  • Have a firm understanding of our ticket plan options and benefits and communicate that to Flex Plan leads thru phone calls, emails and mailings.
  • Maintain and service season ticket accounts throughout the year.
  • Data entry of ticket leads and follow-up with new plans.
  • In-seat visits to multi-game attendees.
  • Tag seats of TM.com buyers with ticket package info.
  • All other duties as assigned by Director of Season Ticket Sales.

Group Sales Component

The heart of ticket sales for Admirals games comes from group sales. Interns working in group sales will help ensure groups booked by Admirals staff are provided exemplary customer service. They will also reach out to potential new groups.

Responsibilities:

  • Help with Youth Hockey logistics (arrival, escort to locker rooms, entrance onto ice, scoreboard operation, etc.).
  • Deliver Group benefits to group leaders.
  • Assist in fulfillment with group assists (National Anthem, color guard, Zamboni rides, etc.)
  • Staff Admirals Tickets Sales booth.
  • Pre-game and post-game calls to group leaders to gauge needs and experience.
  • Fundraising group calls from donation lists.
  • Individual group projects which focus on meetings, calls and tours for new groups.
  • All other duties as assigned by Director of Group Sales.

Ticket Operations Component

The key to building attendance is retention – getting people who bought tickets to continue buying tickets. That doesn’t happen if people have a negative experience getting their tickets the first time around. Part of Ticket Operations’ job is to make sure our fans have a positive experience getting their tickets. Our Ticket Sales Interns will aid in this effort by processing orders the moment they come in and getting the tickets in the hands of our fans as quickly as possible.

Responsibilities include:

  • Collecting and organizing data collected at games and other locations.
  • Assist with Roscoe’s Crew membership benefits.
  • Facilitate our Donations Program and follow up with organizations for fundraising groups.
  • Assist in growing the sales department’s social media presence.
  • Catalog and distribute donation requests as group leads.
  • Distribute 2016-17 Admirals pocket schedule to social hotspots in the area.
  • Create and disseminate email campaigns.
  • Assist with mailings to season ticket holders, group leaders and roscoe’s crew members.
  • Run reports and needed for sales staff.
  • Staff the Will Call booth, sales booth and Fan Services area during games.
  • All other duties as assigned by Director of Ticket Operations.

This internship is unpaid and must be for school credit. Office hours will be coordinated with your schedule but should be between 20-25 hours per week. College Credit:
All internships at PSE Agency are associated with colleges, universities or other learning institutions. Students must earn college credit for the internship. PSE will work directly with the student’s adviser or faculty member at their learning institution in regard to aligning time, the internship experience itself and all evaluations and other such documentation. There is no financial compensation associated with this internship.

Term/Hours:
Internships are available on both a full credit and partial credit basis and are available for the fall, winter and summer semesters/trimesters/breaks. Internship hours can include game and events experience as well as in-office experience.

This position will assist in enhancing the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins' online presence.  The New Media/Digital Media intern will play a critical role in content creation for the team's various digital platforms, including the website, blog, social media channels and other outlets.

Duties
• In-Game play-by-play updates across all Social Media outlets for home a select road games.
