Ticket Sales Internship - Binghamton Senators (Binghamton, NY)

The Binghamton Senators are currently seeking Ticket Sales interns for the 2015 summer. Our goal is to maintain an internship program that is beneficial to both the student and the organization. The most important department in any professional sports organization is the ticket sales department. Most jobs in the industry, especially most entry-level jobs, are in the ticket sales area. Therefore, it is imperative that those who wish to work in professional sports have a background, knowledge, and love for selling tickets and the ticket selling process. This internship will give the intern a vast knowledge of how professional sports organizations, especially minor league organizations, increase their ticket sales with season and group tickets. With these summer internships, you focus on the most important aspect of any professional sports organization, season ticket sales. There are up to 5 positions available.  OPPORTUNITY TO EARN COMMISSIONS! 

PLEASE NOTE: THERE IS NO SALARY OR STIPEND WITH THIS POSITION. 

Duties:
• Learn ticket sales process
• Make cold calls to local companies and individuals selling 2015-2016 full and partial season ticket plans
• Assist with marketing and promotional campaigns for the ticket sales department
• Assist ticket department with season ticket holder mailings
• Assist in the daily operations of the Senators TIcket Sales department
• Creating and maintaining ticket department databases and spreadsheets
• Maintain an organized profile of clients and prospects
• Develop and implement programs for lead generation
• Research and generate sales leads
• Provide customer service and implement customer relations programs both on and off site
• Assist in servicing season ticket holders and other clients
• Assist the sales staff in regard to their clerical duties
• Perform all other duties as assigned

Requirements:
•  Work at least 25 hours a week in the Senators office, some nighttime work required
•  Work external events to help promote the Binghamton Senators
•  Must maintain professional attitude and appearance, and willing to work hard
•  Must working towards a career in sports management
•  Preference given to those who wish to work in sales in the sports industry
•  Must have own transportation and a valid Drivers License

Game Night Internships-Ticket Sales - Portland Pirates (Portland, ME)

Game-Night Interns will work closely with the Pirates' Ticket Sales Staff to ensure that every game night runs smoothly. The candidates are only required for game-nights, and will assist with the following tasks:
• Setup and breakdown of concourse activities/displays on games nights.
• Assist in the execution of all Pirates game-day fan experiences including, but not limited to, Kids Club sign-ups and activation, birthday party activation, group asset extivation and other tasks deemed necessary.

Game Night Internships - Portland Pirates (Portland, ME)

Game-Night Interns will work closely with the Pirates' Director of Game Operations to ensure that every game night runs smoothly. The candidates are only required for game-nights, and will assist with the following tasks:

Public & Media Relations Intern (Summer) - Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins (Wilkes-Barre, PA)

This position is responsible for assisting the Director of Broadcasting and Media Relations with day-to-day duties.  This internship MUST be taken for college credit.  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The following lists the primary essential functions of this position.

THIS DESCRIPTION MAY NOT BE ALL INCLUSIVE. OTHER DUTIES MAY BE ASSIGNED AS NEEDED.  

• The daily maintenance and upkeep of team statistical and sports information
• Assisting in the production of the W-B/Scranton Penguins Yearbook
• Providing content for and maintenance of the W-B/Scranton Penguins Web site
• Assisting with the creation and implementation of public and community relations efforts
• Other duties as assigned by supervisors

Candidates must have:

• High School Diploma
• Strong verbal and writing skills
• Ability to multitask
• Strong work ethic
• Basic knowledge of hockey
• Flexible hours and availability on nights and weekends
