Job Summary: The New Business Development Account Executive is responsible for selling group and season ticket packages tickets for the Houston Aeros, the primary development affiliate of the NHL’s Minnesota Wild.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

· Prospects and sells new sales opportunities through the sale of group tickets and season ticket packages for the Houston Aeros.

· Responsible for servicing and up selling existing group ticket accounts.

· Generates new sales through calls, outside appointments and building tours.

· Staffs Houston Aeros ticket sales tables for games plus outside functions including luncheons, business shows, conventions, etc.

· Must meet all predetermined call activity and sales goals.

· Develops professional relationships with current clients for referral leads.

· Assist with other department duties, as assigned.

Required Knowledge/Skills/Job Qualifications:

· Excellent communication skills, both written and oral

· Previous sales experience a plus

· Effective time management skills

· Natural aggressive approach and positive attitude

· Quality presentation skills

Education and Formal Training:

· College degree preferred.

Ticket Sales and Marketing Internship (Spring Semester 2010) - Houston Aeros (Houston, TX)

Job Summary: The Houston Aeros of the American Hockey League are offering an opportunity to current college level students looking to gain real world sales experience and position themselves for a career in the Sports Industry upon graduation. Ticket Sales Interns will be trained in phone sales and managed by Houston Aeros Director of Sales & Director of Business Development. Interns will be responsible for making cold calls to generate new business ticket revenue for the Houston Aeros. Basic sales and marketing principles will be explained throughout the internship. Ticket Sales Interns will make a weekly stipend and commission on all sales. As a bonus, top performers will also be offered to interview for an Account Executive position with the Houston Aeros.

Job Summary: The Community Programs Intern works under the direction of the Coordinator of Community Programs. Responsibilities include selling and servicing accounts, creating new ideas to increase ticket sales and perform basic office functions as needed. Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Build relationships with local school districts and other community programs.
  • Proactively create opportunities for new business with existing community programs participants.

  • Manage the facilitation of all donation requests
  • Assist Charities Manager with all fundraising events and special projects
  • Work & assist in the organization of in-game fundraising efforts (Golden Puck, Chuck-A-Puck, Jerseys off Their Backs, Crystal Puck, etc.)
  • Organize and facilitate ticket distribution for theTickets for Kids program
  • Assist with HAC administrative needs (Charities Birthdays, Comp Requests, etc.)
  • Additional responsibilities to be added when agreed upon by the Charities Manager and HAC Executive Director
