The Binghamton Senators seek a hard working, aggressive, self-motivated person to assist the organization with its ticket sales campaigns primarily group sales campaign. This is the perfect position for those seeking experience with an entry level position in ticket sales. This position represents a great starting point for those wishing to enter the competitive field of professional sports. Great chance for promotion for those who excel in this position.
PLEASE NOTE: This is a Seasonal Position from mid-June to mid-April with a monthly stipend plus commissions. There are no relocation expenses available for this position.
Compensation:
$500 a month stipend
10% Commission on most sales
5% Commission on smaller package sales
No benefits associated with this position
Responsibilities:
• Make cold calls to area companies, organizations, social groups, schools, and non-profits, with a primary focus on selling group ticket packages, but also selling season ticket packages and fan experience packages. Make 80-100 calls a day
• Schedule face-to-face meetings with prospective clients. 10 meetings a week
• Create and develop new group sales concepts to generate new revenue streams.
• Work at least 2 nights a week, in addition to normal day time hours, calling customers for season ticket plans, mini plans, and other special offers. 30-40 calls during a 3 hour period
• Develop, implement and maintain sales campaigns utilizing direct mail, cold calling, appointment scheduling, and ticket driven revenue promotions.
• Meet or exceed Ticket Sales Revenue Objectives
• Generate own leads by prospecting respective sales area.
• Prospecting through involvement in local and area networking opportunities.
• Work all home games for the purpose of developing new prospects plus meeting with present clients for referral opportunities.
• Assist in promoting organization through various outside events in the Southern Tier area.
• Establish professional relationships in order to create repeat business and superior customer service.
• Maintain complete and accurate records for customers and organization.
• Daily updated database maintenance of sales, as well as call sheet tracking
• Perform other promotional or service functions as required.
• Other duties as assigned by the Vice President of Sales, Director of Ticketing, and Executive Vice President of Operations.
Requirements:
• College degree majoring in a related field. (Business, Marketing, Sport Management, Communications, etc.).
• Individuals willing to work hard on a daily basis, handle multiple tasks, work in a fast-paced environment and are willing to do the job necessary to help the organization achieve its revenue goals.
• Hardworking, dependable & motivated self starter.
• Exceptional interpersonal and problem solving skills.
• Strong marketing and sales skills, communication skills, and organizational skills.
• Proven oral, written and presentation skills.
• Creative and innovative team player with cooperative attitude.
• Computer Literate; strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Database maintenance system, graphics software such as Publisher and Illustrator.
• Must work flexible hours to include business work week, nights, weekends and holidays.
• Excellence in organization, prioritization, and strong customer service.
• Valid drivers license & personal transportation.
• Able to work all 40 hours a week in this office, plus games and other outside events

Duties:
• Learn ticket sales process
• Make cold calls to local companies and individuals selling 2013-2014 full and partial season ticket plans
• Assist with marketing and promotional campaigns for the ticket sales department
• Assist ticket department with season ticket holder mailings
• Assist in the daily operations of the Senators TIcket Sales department
• Creating and maintaining ticket department databases and spreadsheets
• Maintain an organized profile of clients and prospects
• Develop and implement programs for lead generation
• Research and generate sales leads
• Provide customer service and implement customer relations programs both on and off site
• Assist in servicing season ticket holders and other clients
• Assist the sales staff in regard to their clerical duties
• Perform all other duties as assigned
Requirements:
• Work at least 25 hours a week in the Senators office, some nighttime work required
• Work external events to help promote the Binghamton Senators
• Must maintain professional attitude and appearance, and willing to work hard
• Must working towards a career in sports management
• Preference given to those who wish to work in sales in the sports industry
• Must have own transportation and a valid Drivers License
