Director of Game Operations/Corporate Partnerships Representative - Binghamton Senators (Binghamton, NY)

 

Description: The role of the Director of Game Night Operations is to direct game presentation of all Binghamton Senators home games, including in game promotions, sponsor promotions, giveaways, intermissions, and concourse activities. THIS POSITION HAS A HEAVY SALES FOCUS AND WE ARE LOOKING FOR CANDIDATES WHO HAVE EXPERIENCE IN TICKET SALES AND/OR CORPORATE SALES.


Responsibilities:
Game Operations
• Working with Executive Vice President of Operations, Vice President of Marketing, Vice President of Sales, and Director of Video Operations, create and develop game night presentation strategy for each of the Binghamton Senators home games
• Development of game night scripts
• Development of P.A. reads, sponsor promotions, promotional timeouts, and all other in-game promotions
• In conjunction with Vice President of Sales and Vice President of Marketing, responsible for scheduling National Anthem performances and intermission entertainment
• Assist in development and execute new and existing theme nights and promotional nights
• Inform Coaching Staff of all activities that would affect normal team game procedures and times
• Work with Sales Department and all account reps to coordinate and implement all contractual and group sales obligations for on and off ice promotions, sponsorships, and group theme nights
• Hiring and staffing of all relevant game night positions including in-Arena hosts, DJ’s, promotions crew, and interns within the game operations department

Sales
• Sell advertising, game night promotions, and other relevant sponsorship inventory to local and regional clients
• Responsible for maintaining and developing an assigned list of Renewal Corporate Accounts
• Generate NEW revenue for the organization with development of new sponsorship accounts and upgrading current clients
• Ability to sell NEW season tickets, group tickets, and other ticket packages
• Maintain daily record of calls, meetings, and other sales related activities

Additional Responsibilities:
• Attend regularly scheduled staff meetings
• Manage and maintain game night promotional budget, including all related sponsor and trade related items
• Maintain payroll for relevant game night staff
• Contribute to other Front Office activities in the areas of community relations, social media, ticket operations, branding, fan development, and fan outreach

 

SALARY: Salary plus very aggressive commission structure. Benefits package included after 90 days of employment.

The Binghamton Senators seek a hard working, aggressive, self-motivated person to assist the organization with its ticket sales campaigns primarily group sales campaign. This is the perfect position for those seeking experience with an entry level position in ticket sales. PLEASE NOTE: This is a Seasonal Position from mid-June to mid-April with a monthly stipend plus commissions. There are no relocation expenses available for this position.

The Binghamton Senators are currently seeking a Group Ticket Sales intern for the 2014-2015 season. Our goal is to maintain an intern program that is beneficial to both the student and the organization. The most important department in any professional sports organization is the ticket sales department. Most jobs in the industry, especially most entry-level jobs, are in the ticket sales area. Therefore, it is imperative that those who wish to work in professional sports have a background, knowledge, and love for selling tickets and the ticket selling process. This internship will give the intern a vast knowledge of how professional sports organizations, especially minor league organizations, increase their ticket sales with group tickets. With this internship, you focus on the most important aspect of any professional sports organization,  ticket sales. You will get real world experience in selling group tickets and other special promotion packages by making cold calls to potential customers.

THIS IS AN UNPAID INTERNSHIP, however there is the opportunity to EARN COMMISSIONS through sales. College credit accept, though not required.

Duties:
• Assist in the daily operations of the Senators Group Sales department
• Learn ticket sales process
• Learn how to organize group nights
• Learn Ticketmaster System to process group orders
• Creation and distribution of group sales marketing materials
• Assist with marketing and promotional campaigns for the ticket sales department
• Assist ticket department with season ticket holder or group sales mailings
• Creating and maintaining ticket department databases and spreadsheets
• Maintain an organized profile of clients and prospects
• Develop and implement programs for lead generation
• Research and generate sales leads
• Provide customer service to season ticket holders and implement customer relations programs both on and off site
• Assist in servicing season ticket holders and other clients
• Assist the sales staff in regard to their clerical duties
• Perform all other duties as assigned
• Assist in pre-game and in-game preparation for various activities, including any pre-game or intermission youth hockey games
• Visit with group leaders during games

Requirements:

  •  Work at least 35 hours a week in the Senators office
  •  Work ALL home games.
  •  Must maintain professional attitude and appearance, and willing to work hard
  •  Must be college student, working towards a career in sports management
  •  Preference given to those who wish to work in ticket sales
