Binghamton Devils - Ticket Sales Internship - Binghamton Devils (Binghamton, NY)

The Binghamton Devils are currently seeking Ticket Sales interns for the 2017-18 season. 2017-18 will be the inaugural season for the Binghamton Devils as the American Hockey League affiliate of the New Jersey Devils. Our goal is to maintain an internship program that is beneficial to both the student and the organization. The most important department in any professional sports organization is the ticket sales department. Most jobs in the industry, especially most entry-level jobs, are in the ticket sales area. Therefore, it is imperative that those who wish to work in professional sports have a background, knowledge, and love for selling tickets and the ticket selling process. This internship will give the intern a vast knowledge of how professional sports organizations, especially minor league organizations, increase their ticket sales with season and group tickets. There are up to 4 positions available.  Opportunities to earn commission. Please note this is an unpaid internship, college credit is preferred but not required.

PLEASE NOTE: THERE IS NO SALARY OR STIPEND WITH THIS POSITION. 

Duties:
• Learn ticket sales process
• Make cold calls to local companies and individuals selling 2017-2018 season memberships and group ticket plans.
• Assist with marketing and promotional campaigns for the ticket sales department
• Assist in the daily operations of the Ticket Sales department
• Creating and maintaining ticket department databases and spreadsheets
• Maintain an organized profile of clients and prospects
• Develop and implement programs for lead generation
• Research and generate sales leads
• Provide customer service and implement customer relations programs both on and off site
• Assist in servicing season ticket holders and other clients
• Assist the sales staff in regard to their clerical duties
• Perform all other duties as assigned

Requirements:
•  Work at least 30 hours a week in the Binghamton Devils office, some nighttime work required
•  Work external events to help promote the Binghamton Devils
•  Must maintain professional attitude and appearance, and willing to work hard
•  Preference given to those who wish to work in sales in the sports industry
•  Must have own transportation and a valid Driver’s License

Game Operations Intern - Binghamton Devils (Binghamton, NY)

The Binghamton Devils, the AHL affiliate of the New Jersey Devils, are seeking game day interns to assist our Director of Game Operations for their inaugural 2017-18 season. This is an unpaid position, however candidates have the opportunity to receive credit for their experience. This internship will give candidate a vast knowledge of how professional sports organizations, especially minor league organizations, provide world class entertain, and give you a behind the scenes look on how to execute game night elements.  There are 10 internship opportunities available. Please note this is an unpaid internship, college credit is preferred but not required.

Duties:

  • Assist during the game day presentation wherever assigned and needed whether it is in the concourse, in the stands, on the ice, etc.
  • Assist with the planning and execution of the game day experience
  • Help with all pre-game and postgame activities

Requirements:

  • Attend Game Night Meetings planned by Director of Game Operations
  • Desire to work in sports
  •  Work game days/game nights
  • Must maintain professional attitude and appearance, and willing to work hard
  • Must either be in enrolled in college or have at least a Bachelor’s Degree

Ticketing Database and CRM Internship - Binghamton Devils (Binghamton, NY)

The Binghamton Devils are currently seeking a Ticketing Database and CRM intern for their inaugural 2017-18 season. Our goal is to maintain an intern program that is beneficial to both the student and the organization. The most important department in any professional sports organization is the ticket sales department. Most jobs in the industry, especially most entry-level jobs, are in the ticketing department. Therefore, it is imperative that those who wish to work in professional sports have a background, knowledge, and love for the ticket selling process. For this position, the focus will be on helping the ticket sales department maintain and organize their ticket sales databases. This internship will give the intern a vast knowledge of how professional sports organizations increase their ticket sales with season and group tickets. Please note this is an unpaid internship, college credit is preferred but not required.

Duties:
• Creating and maintaining ticket department databases and spreadsheets
• All data entry from new ticket sales leads
• Scrubbing all duplicate data from ticket sales databases
• Ensuring proper formatting and ease of availability for all customer leads
• Assist with marketing and promotional campaigns for the ticket sales department
• Assist ticket department with season ticket memberships or group sales mailings
• Maintain an organized profile of clients and prospects
• Develop and implement programs for lead generation
• Research and generate sales leads
• Perform all other duties as assigned

Requirements:
• Work at least 25 hours a week in the Binghamton Devils office
• Must maintain professional attitude and appearance, and willing to work hard
• Must be college student, working towards a career in sports management
