Internship Opportunity - Marketing & Graphic Design - Bridgeport Sound Tigers (Bridgeport, CT)

Marketing & Graphic Design interns will be responsible for working with all members of the staff to develop marketing plans for specific promotional games, in-game promotions, engaging marketing material, and a diverse social media presence. Interns will work collaborate with members of the marketing, communication, operations, and sales departments to execute these objectives and have the opportunity to gain diverse hands-on experience in nearly every area required to succeed in the sports industry. These responsibilities include, but are not limited to: coming up with marketing ideas and materials to supplement game themes/promotions, generating promotional flyers using Adobe Photoshop or InDesign, producing new social media content, researching effective marketing trends in the industry, and distributing marketing materials such as flyers or pocket schedules. Interns will also be expected to assist with in-game operations and community events. Interns will also be part of a “street team” to help distribute content and promote within local communities.

The Marketing & Graphic Design Intern will report directly to the Marketing Coordinator for scheduling their office hours and for game night duties. Interns will be asked to work about 10-15 office hours a week and be able to work game nights during the season, depending on availability and game schedule.

Required Qualifications:

  • Intern must be a local college sophomore, junior, senior or graduate student pursuing a degree in Marketing, Communications, Sports Management or a closely related field.
  • Ability to be highly detailed-oriented, and self-motivated
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) is a big plus. 
  • Knowledge of Hockey

This internship is UNPAID.

Interns must be eligible to receive a college credit.

Part Time Box Office Teller - Webster Bank Arena - Harbor Yard Sports & Entertainment (Bridgeport, CT)

Harbor Yard Sports & Entertainment, management company of Webster Bank Arena and the Bridgeport Sound Tigers, are looking for part time tellers for the arena Box Office. We are seeking individuals who are looking to uphold our organizations pride in customer service and maintaining his/her professional demeanor in any situation. The primary responsibility of this position is to provide guests with a positive initial impression of the Webster Bank Arena.

Responsibilities:

  • Accurately operate the Ticketmaster computer ticketing system to sell tickets to any events held at the Webster Bank Arena
  • Provide all guests with a positive first impression of the Webster Bank Arena by offering superior, individualized customer service
  • Answering incoming calls to the Box Office line and provide information regarding any and all upcoming events
  • Balance and reconcile cash draw at the end of each shift
  • Maintain the policies of the Box Office with regard to customer service and other ticketing issues
  • Print up and organize will call (envelopes for ticket pick-up) on an event day
  • Performing other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • 1 - 2 years retail and/or customer service experience
  • Associates or Bachelors degree 
  • Excellent customer service skills, an outgoing personality and a professional demeanor
  • The aptitude and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent organizational skills and basic computer skills
  • Ability to speak clearly and politely on phone
  • Prior TicketMaster and/or Box Office experience a plus
  • Must be able to work flexible hours and must live locally

Marketing: Game Operations/Presentation
Video/Game Operations Manager - Webster Bank Arena / Bridgeport Sound Tigers (Bridgeport, CT)

Position Responsibilities:

The Video/Game Operations Manager will be charged with creating content for and managing the video and graphic display systems at the Webster Bank Arena.   Working closely with the marketing, sales, and sponsorship departments, the Video/Game Operations Manager will create still graphics, animations, and videos for the arena entertainment at home games for the Bridgeport Sound Tigers AHL Hockey Team, Sacred Heart University Hockey Team & Fairfield University Basketball Team. Along videos, this position will produce, script and manage the Game Operations Department for the Bridgeport Sound Tigers AHL Hockey Team. Along with these and other live events, the Video/Game Operations Manager will also be involved in assisting any other shows or events (concerts, Family shows, graduations, etc.) taking place at the Arena. Besides content creation, the position will also be in charge of the management of the arena’s video and graphic display systems, including the arena video boards and LED signage. Management of this equipment will include maintenance of the equipment and coordination of the content to be displayed. 

Qualifications:

The Video/Game Operations Manager must have experience in both static and motion graphic design, working with the Adobe suit of products (Photoshop, After Effects, Illustrator). MUST HAVE KNOWLEDGE OF DAKTRONICS SOFTWARE. They should also have a familiarity with the software and equipment used in video production, including video editing software, cameras, lights, and microphones. Experience working in a live studio production environment is a plus.
