Game Operations Intern - Grand Rapids Griffins (Grand Rapids, MI)

Internship Overview:  The Grand Rapids Griffins are searching for a dedicated, self-motivated, creative, and enthusiastic individual to assist in the facilitation of the team’s game operations for the 2016-17 season.  The applicant for this internship should have a strong interest in a career on the event management side of sports.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

- Assisting with the planning, preparation, and organization of all entertainment aspects of Grand Rapids Griffins home games.

- Assisting in the execution of game night plans, overseeing the promotional team, mascots, and all contests/promotions on the ice and in the stands.

- Staging and maintenance of all in-game promotions and props.

- Researching and developing new promotions and giveaways through various methods.

- Assisting with the booking, coordination, and fulfillment of national anthem performers, Zamboni riders, and birthday announcement requests.

- Completing regular office hours on non-game days.

- Various duties assigned by the Director of Game Operations.


Internship Length: September 2016 – April 2017


Compensation:  Hourly + bonus opportunities.

Requirements:

- Must be currently attending college, preferably with a Sports Management, Event Management, Communications, or Business Administration major.

- Availability to work at least 15 office hours each week.

- Availability to work ALL home games during the 2016-17 season (including those on and around holidays).

- Demonstrate highly developed verbal, written, and interpersonal skills for interactions with fans and co-workers.

- Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite programs such as Photoshop, After Effects, and Premiere is preferred but not required.

Inside Sales & Service Internships - Grand Rapids Griffins (Grand Rapids, MI)

Summary: The Grand Rapids Griffins are searching for self-motivated, creative and enthusiastic individuals who are looking to gain the experience and skill set required to become a ticket sales and service professional. During the 2016-17 season, our interns will:

 - Learn from and work directly with our creative and award-winning sales team of account executives, managers and directors.
 - Take on sales, service and retention duties and responsibilities directly related to those of our ticket sales account executives.
 - Receive the opportunity to put their skills to work and gain valuable experience while contributing to the department's effort to achieve season ticket and group sales goals.

Internship Length: September 6 to April 20, 2017.

Compensation:  Hourly plus commission and bonus opportunities.

Key Areas of Focus:

 - Sales and fulfillment of Griffins ticket products during the 2016-17 season.

The Grand Rapids Griffins, primary affiliate of the Detroit Red Wings, announce an opening for a Public Relations Intern for Home Games. The internship starts in Sept. 2016 and lasts until the conclusion of the 2016-17 season (April-June 2017, depending on playoffs).

This internship is intended to help prepare the individual for employment with a professional sports team.
