Description: High energy, enthusiastic individuals will be responsible for the game night operations and selling of the 50/50 Central raffle program. The program is a computerized system that sells raffle tickets to fans. Half of the money raised at the end of the game goes to the winning fan, the other half goes to the Monarchs Care Foundation charity.

Responsibilities will include setting up the two 50/50 Central raffle stations and programming the hand-held machines. Once doors open, the individuals will sell the raffle tickets throughout the game until the second intermission. They will choose a winner and count the money.

Number of Positions: 5

Hours: 4 hours game

Availability: 25+ games

Pay: $8.00 per hour

Community Involvement, Outside Promotions/Events In-Season Intern - Manchester Monarchs Hockey Club (Manchester, NH)

The Manchester Monarchs Community Relations, Community Involvement, Promotions, and Kids Club are looking for in-season interns to be involved in setting up and staffing outside community events from mid-September through December 31, 2014. 

Events include, but are not limited to: Kids Fairs, Fun Runs, Corporate partner events, other events. Interns will be responsible for, but not limited to, setting up and take down of events; representing the Manchester Monarchs within the community; maintaining stations at community events; talking with and communicating with fans, ticket holders, children; and communicating with event staff, either written or by phone. 

Interns are to be reliable, energetic, approachable, friendly, and comfortable in approaching and speaking with children and adults.

Candidates must be able to work some nights and weekends.

Description:

The Merchandise Department is responsible for a variety of duties during Monarchs’ home games ranging from selling Chuck-A-Pucks to Merchandise. Employees will be asked to use a register, restock products, and maintain store/station cleanliness. The department strives to deliver outstanding customer service and employees are expected to have good communication skills and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment.

The applicant should have organizational skills, leadership experience, computer knowledge, great communication skills, strategic management abilities, and must be very energetic.

Hours: Hours will vary based on assignment. Average 4 to 6 hours a night.

Availability: 30-38 games; October-April

Pay: $8.00/hour

The areas of responsibility are as follows:

Inventory management – Creates and tracks purchase orders and packing slips for all categories. Maintains acceptable inventory levels for store, kiosks, and chuck-a-pucks.

Product development – Investigates new products including but not limited to novelties and apparel. Researches and determines vendors based on pricing, minimums, artwork charges, etc. Responsible for purchasing strategies and decisions. Keeps current on market trends and market research. Assists the Marketing Team in the design, price negotiation, and ordering of all promotional items for the organization.

Staff supervision and management – Supervises management and operation of the pro shop. Hires and fires all daytime store employees and event employees for store, kiosks, jersey raffle, and chuck-a-puck. Create staffing budget, tracks hours and payment for store/event employees.

Merchandising – Plans, executes and maintains all visual components. Keeps selling floor clean and attractive. Manages creation and change of pricelists and signage. Determines venues and schedule for advertising.

Financial – Tracks sales, cost of goods, margin & profit. Produces reports for day time sales, game night sales, merchandise comps and special events. Responsible for the reconciliation of all merchandise activities as well as banking. Responsible for the business unit’s budget and financial projections for each season.

Website – Processes and tracks orders. Assists in maintaining fresh and updated information on website merchandise pages. Oversees all auctions and special promotions in conjunction with regular website sales.

Retailing – Manages wholesale and mail order business. Identifies, generates and maximizes opportunities.

The ideal candidate would possess a bachelor's degree in sport management/marketing, or a related field. One to three years retail experience is also expected.

Excellent time management and organization skills are essential. Excellent written and oral communication skills are a must. The ideal candidate will have good listening skills.
