Senior Manager - Franchise Ticket Sales & Retention (Rampage AHL & Stars WNBA) - San Antonio Rampage & San Antonio Stars (San Antonio, TX)


This position is responsible for the overall ticket sales revenue generation for the San Antonio Rampage (AHL) and San Antonio Stars (WNBA) Franchises.   This position will work closely with the Sr. Director of Franchise Business Operations to develop, execute, and monitor progress toward achieving each franchise’s targeted revenue goals.  This position directly leads and supervises a staff of 3-4 franchise sales and retention managers and is responsible for collaborating with various managers across Spurs Sports & Entertainment.  This position is a senior level franchise position that plays a critical role at SS&E in growing the Rampage and Stars franchises.  The incumbent for this position must be a strategic thinker with excellent leadership and communication skills.

  • Develop and execute ticket sales and retention strategies and SMART goals to achieve annual targeted objectives
  • Lead and develop a team of 3-4 dedicated franchise sales and retention managers. Inspire, motivate, and monitor the performance of these sales and retention managers
  • Collaborate with a cross-functional group of SS&E managers to influence and support their efforts in achieving franchise sales and retention goals
  • Compile, report, and best utilize CRM and sales data to track progress, develop and adjust sales and retention strategies, and inform Sr. Director of sales trends, plans, and priorities
  • Represent the San Antonio Rampage and San Antonio Stars at periodic AHL and WNBA meetings, conference calls, and in other communication with each league
  • Other Duties as assigned


  • A bachelor’s degree in Business, Sports Management, a related field of study or commensurate experience in the sales/sales management field
  • A minimum 3 years in a leadership or management role, hiring, staffing, managing, inspiring and training full time sales or retention representatives
  • A minium of 5-7 years in a sales or service oriented role or department
  • 1-3 years experience utilizing a database or CRM system
  • A detailed understanding of the sales process and consumer purchase behaviors
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and support multiple high level positions
  • A proven track record of achieving targeted goals through a team by inspiring, influencing, and supporting others
  • Must have high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations and information
  • This position requires a dedicated flexible schedule, to include but not limited to working weekends, holidays and evening
  • Ability to demonstrate poise, tact and diplomacy
  • Strong teamwork aptitude required
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, Power Point, Microsoft Dynamics, and Ticketmaster ticketing software
  • Ability to travel approximately 25% for position
