Marketing: Mascot
Mascot - San Antonio Rampage (San Antonio, TX)

It is the Franchise Mascot’s responsibility to insure that all administrative elements of the mascot program are in working order and being used to the best of their ability.  The position includes all teams within the Spurs Sports & Entertainment organization including but not limited to appearances, game operations, and general administration.  The position will be challenged to conceptualize new skits  as well as other innocative ideas to enhance game presentation.  The candidate should continually keep up with current entertainment industry trends and have basic knowledge and aspirations of working in video production.  The candidate should be a highly-motivated, self-sufficient person that has an acute attention to detail and works well with deadlines.

Responsibilities: 

  1. Responsible for performing at appearances, which may include any of the organization’s multiple characters and/or other costume work as necessary.
  2. Work with Game Operations Manager to receive training in a manner consistent with the character, and to work together to collect the necessary tools with which ti perform to the fullest extent. These tooks include costume pieces, props, and any other entity necessary to perform an appearance timely and fully.  All purchases must be approved by the Manager of Game Operations.
  3. Report all budget-related for acquisition and maintenance of all props and uniforms.
  4. Provide detailed weekly planned work schedule the Wednesday before the week begins to ensure the ideal use of work hours. All hours must be approved by Manager of Game Entertainment.
  5. Help create and conceptualize new skits for franchise mascots. Position needs to present new ideas to enhance game presentation.
  6. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: 

  • Must be available to work all Rampage and Stars games.
  • Must maintain a high level of fitness in order to perform at the highest level as an AHL and WNBA mascot.
  • Must be able to work with all types of people.
  • Must be able to take feedback from numerous sources and implement into performance.
  • Creative mind with the ability to think on the fly and have a presence that entertains large crowds.
  • Self-starter, pro-active, highly motivated.
  • Detail-oriented.
  • Takes direction well and works with team to discuss and plan new ideas.
  • Work at least 15 hours in the office during a week.
  • Able to work in a fast-pace environment.
  • Able to implement last minute feedback, when needed.
  • Preferred currently involvement in professional work experience and/or seeking higher education.
  • Preferred minimum two (2) years of professional team mascot experience.

Marketing: Game Operations/Presentation
Rampage In Arena Host - San Antonio Rampage (San Antonio, Tx)

The In-Arena Host is directly responsible for being the mobile In-Arena voice of the San Antonio Rampage at all home game nights. This includes being the visible and mobile host at every Rampage home game, Rampage playoff game, as well as any requested community events under the supervision of the Franchise Game Operations Coordinator and the Manager of Game Entertainment.

Responsibilities: 

  • Game Night Hosting – serve as the In-Arena Host at all Rampage home games.  This includes all regular season games, as well as playoffs, preseason, and any other game-like events.  The host must abide by all AHL Rules and Procedures, and the requests of Rampage staff and sponsors.  Position will attend all meetings related to Game Presentation at the request of the Franchise Game Operations Coordinator.
  •  Community Events – appear in public as the voice of the San Antonio Rampage  at requested community events.  These elements include interviewing players, coaches, or Hockey Operations staff.  This also includes interaction with the community at all requested community events. 
  •  Community Interaction/Social Media – Candidate must present himself/herself in a professional manner while in public.  This includes all social media networks.  Candidate must refrain from putting himself/herself or Spurs Sports & Entertainment in any negative light while conducting any interviews or social media posts.  This also includes following all organization rules and procedures concerning interaction with Hockey Operations staff outside of work.

Qualifications: 

  • Must be able to work with multiples individuals and adjust accordingly to personalities.
  • Must have strong communication and organization skills.
  • Must be able to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays, if necessary.
  • Must be self-starter, proactive, and highly-motivated.
  • Ability to work in an environment quick decisions and implementation is needed.
  • Demonstrate poise, tact and diplomacy.
  • Strong teamwork aptitude required.
  • Strong customer service skills required.
  • Stand/Walk for long periods of time.
  • Must have two (2) years of of announcing/hosting experience (Game Operations experience is beneficial but not required)
