 The Springfield Falcons, The AHL affiliate of the Arizona Coyotes, are seeking passionate and positive people who are committed to becoming leaders in the business of professional sports. Career growth-oriented sports sales development program, which focuses on developing the skills needed to become an inside sales and customer service professional. Under the guidance of the Ticket Sales Department, the intent of this program is to expand the applicant’s abilities to a level that will merit consideration for a promotion to a full time position within the sports industry following successful completion of the program.  You will be required to submit your availability ahead of time. This is an unpaid internship that can be used for class credit.  

• Make outbound calls to assigned leads to sell upcoming events and ticket packages
• Answer incoming single game calls with the ability to up-sell callers into packages, and groups
• Ability to work office hours during the week plus all Falcons home games
• Work all home games, plus additional nights, weekends and holidays outside of normal office hours, as assigned
• Represent the organization at in-house events and off-site community events promoting tickets
• Maintain computerized records of all ticket customers and prospects using our CRM data base Archtics
• Provide unsurpassed customer service to prospects and current clients over the phone, in office and at games or other events
• Assist customer service efforts (mailing invoices, tickets, etc…), and other office tasks
• Help with planning and organizing various sales and marketing initiatives and programs
• Attend weekly meetings and sales training/role-play sessions.
• Other duties as assigned


• At least one year of advanced education working towards a degree in Business, Sport Management, Marketing or related field.
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Excellent customer service skills
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule with long hours, which includes home games, nights, weekends and holidays as assigned

• Ability to work as a team player
• Proficiency in basic computer software programs

Box Office Internship (2015-2016 Season) - Springfield Falcons (Springfield, MA)

The Springfield Falcons of the American Hockey League, proud affliate of the Arizona Coyotes, currently have an internship position available in the Ticket Operations department during the 2015-2016 season. This position will require hours during the week, as well as nights and weekends.  The internship is ideal for Sport Management, Marketing, and general business majors looking for academic credit. This is a non-paying position but will provide invaluable, hands-on experience in the daily operation of a professional sports franchise.

Job Description:

  • Report directly to the Manager of Ticket Operations
  • Assist at Ticket Service Table on game nights
  • Responsible for customer service of group, season, and individual ticket holders
  • Aid ticket sorting and distribution efforts
  • Help maintain and manage fan database and other internal records
  • Support ticket sales efforts of Falcons staff by doing necessary backwork (i.e. follow-up calls, recording seat locations, handling Will Call orders, etc.)
  • Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

  • Full-time college student in good academic standing
  • Currently pursuing a relevant degree from an accredited academic institution
  • Team oriented, self- motivated, responsible person
  • Organizational skills and attention to detail a must
  • Strong communication, computer, and people skills necessary

Communications: Media/Public Relations Servicing
Manager, Digital & Social Media - American Hockey League (Springfield, MA)

Implement and manage the league’s digital media strategies, incorporating content, hockey communications, public relations, marketing, ticket sales, sponsorship, etc.

> Lead coordination of digital media content and delivery among all departments

> Manage schedule of external communications, including social media posts, AHL Insider e-mails, media releases, web creative, etc.

> Interact and engage with fans via social media and e-mail

Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, journalism or related field.
Deep understanding of all aspects of social and digital media programs, trends, web site management, etc.
Excellent technology and communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize.
Practical media experience preferred.
Knowledge of related computer programs, including Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign, and experience with HTML and content management programs.
Ability to work irregular hours, especially weekends and holidays.
