 The Springfield Falcons, The AHL affiliate of the Columbus Blue Jackets, are seeking passionate and positive people who are committed to becoming leaders in the business of professional sports. Career growth-oriented sports sales development program, which focuses on developing the skills needed to become an inside sales and customer service professional. Under the guidance of the Ticket Sales Department, the intent of this program is to expand the applicant’s abilities to a level that will merit consideration for a promotion to a full time position within the sports industry following successful completion of the program.  You will be required to submit your availability ahead of time.

• Make outbound calls to assigned leads to sell upcoming events and ticket packages
• Answer incoming single game calls with the ability to up-sell callers into packages, and groups
• Ability to work office hours during the week plus all Falcons home games
• Work all home games, plus additional nights, weekends and holidays outside of normal office hours, as assigned
• Represent the organization at in-house events and off-site community events promoting tickets
• Maintain computerized records of all ticket customers and prospects using our CRM data base Archtics
• Provide unsurpassed customer service to prospects and current clients over the phone, in office and at games or other events
• Assist customer service efforts (mailing invoices, tickets, etc…), and other office tasks
• Help with planning and organizing various sales and marketing initiatives and programs
• Attend weekly meetings and sales training/role-play sessions.
• Other duties as assigned


• At least one year of advanced education working towards a degree in Business, Sport Management, Marketing or related field.
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Excellent customer service skills
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule with long hours, which includes home games, nights, weekends and holidays as assigned

AHL Internship (Spring Semester 2015) - American Hockey League (Springfield, MA)

The American Hockey League has an exciting position available for a full or part-time internship during the upcoming summer. The ideal candidate is a college junior or senior. Interns assist in the Sales & Marketing, Hockey Operations and Communications departments of the American Hockey League corporate offices in Springfield, MA. This is an unpaid position and the AHL will work with the hired candidate(s) for college credit.

It is helpful if candidates can begin their intership by January 10.

Specifc duties include:

-Preparation duties and event management operations of the 2015 AHL All-Star Classic

-Assisting with, including product development and service

-Assisting with AHL Authentic, including customer service

Manager of Ticket Sales - Springfield Falcons (Springfield, Ma)

Position Overview:

Works closely with the Vice President of Sales in the staffing, management and implementation of a dedicated sales campaign to achieve targeted revenue and ticket sales goals. Position is responsible for leading and developing new business through season tickets, partial plans, group tickets and premium inventory as well as up-selling existing accounts.

Primary Responsibilities:


·        Assist in managing the overall sales efforts for the Falcons tickets sales staff, including directing sales activities, setting and reviewing sales goals and training and mentoring the staff.

·        Develop sales plans along with daily, monthly and season goals.

·        Join representatives on sales calls and appointments and assist with the sales process where necessary.

·        Lead the development, planning and execution of group theme nights throughout the season.

·        Responsible for achieving personal sales goals.

·        Monitor volume of outbound phone calls, face to face appointments and reporting of sales results.

·        Provide the highest level of customer service.

·        Attends all Springfield Falcons home games; managing sales and service efforts of staff.

·        Attend outside events with the purpose of selling tickets.

·        Provide weekly and monthly reports to management.



·        3-5 years experience in selling tickets is REQUIRED

·        Knowledge of Archtics

·        Ability to multi-task; manage a staff while meeting personal sales goals

·        Previous management experience is a plus

·        Ability to effectively communicate with the public and staff in a professional manner

The Springfield Falcons, proud American Hockey League affiliate of the Columbus Blue Jackets, are seeking a highly motivated Manager, Corporate Partnerships. The Manager, Corporate Partnerships is responsible for soliciting, securing and fulfilling sponsorship partners and agreements on behalf of the Springfield Falcons. This position will be responsible for generating revenue thought corporate sponsorship sales and servicing while maintaining high levels of client services. Must be self-disciplined, possess strong follow-up skills, and have exceptional time management skills.

• Responsible for prospecting, selling, cultivating and maintaining the corporate sponsorships for Springfield Falcons
• Responsible for soliciting new cash partnerships
• Responsible for making cold calls & sales presentations for the venues
• Responsible for executing all aspects of corporate partnership fulfillment
• Responsible for working with outside agencies to get all corporate partnerships signage created and placed
• Responsible for the design of sales proposals and presentations for potential corporate partners
• Work with the marketing department on opportunities to cross sell corporate partners

• Four year college degree preferred
• 2-3 years Corporate Sales and/or high level, B2B Ticket Sales experience
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Team oriented
• Proficient computer skills
• Effective time management skills
