Description:

The Springfield Falcons, proud American Hockey League affiliate of the Arizona Coyotes, are seeking a dedicated and highly motivated Broadcast Intern for the 2015-16 season. This position will consist of aiding the team’s play-by-play broadcaster and any related needs that may arise.  This position is a non-paid internship. 

Responsibilities:

Assist in producing and updating statistics, notes and player biographies in media kits

Manage Social Media outlets, including Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram on game nights

Assist in pre-game preparation (media room, game notes, credentials, press box set-up)

Facilitate needs of media during game (distribution of line-ups, box scores and other assistance upon request)

On-air possibility for intermission reports/interviews/league content

Coordinate and film post-game interviews for FalconsTV

Assist with writing and distribution of game day press releases

Edit and publish post-game highlights

Video archiving after each home game

Photo archiving after each home game

Qualifications:

Ability to work nontraditional hours, including nights, weekends and holidays

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Extensive knowledge of the rules of ice hockey and statistical information

Proficiency with Final Cut Pro and Adobe Premiere

Experience with Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign, or Acrobat Pro

Description:
The Springfield Falcons, proud American Hockey League affiliate of the Arizona Coyotes, are seeking passionate and hard-working college students with a professional attitude for our photography internship program for the 2015-16 season. This internship offers real-life experience in the sports and entertainment industry and requires participation for the duration of the season from October 2015 to April 2016. 

Our internship program is unpaid, but college credit is available. 

Responsibilities:

·       Assisting the team photographer with game day assignments which might include a variety of in-game events, sponsorship activation, and fan interaction.

·       Provide assignment photos to the team immediately after the game.

Qualifications:

·       Current college student pursuing a degree in photography, communications, journalism, marketing, public relations, sport management or a related field.

·       Own or have access to a DSLR camera and equipment including an external flash.

·       Passion for sports and photography.

·       Ability to work nontraditional hours, including nights, weekends and holidays.

·       Reliable transportation.

·       Strong time management and organizational skills.

·       Self-starter, highly motivated team player.

·       Physical ability to cover three levels of an arena on your feet.

Ticket Operations Internship (2015-2016 Season) - Springfield Falcons (Springfield, MA)

The Springfield Falcons of the American Hockey League, proud affliate of the Arizona Coyotes, currently have an internship position available in the Ticket Operations department during the 2015-2016 season. This position will require hours during the week, as well as nights and weekends.  The internship is ideal for Sport Management, Marketing, and general business majors looking for academic credit. This is a non-paying position but will provide invaluable, hands-on experience in the daily operation of a professional sports franchise.

Job Description:

  • Report directly to the Manager of Ticket Operations
  • Assist at Ticket Service Table on game nights
  • Responsible for customer service of group, season, and individual ticket holders
  • Aid ticket sorting and distribution efforts
  • Help maintain and manage fan database and other internal records
  • Support ticket sales efforts of Falcons staff by doing necessary backwork (i.e. follow-up calls, recording seat locations, handling Will Call orders, etc.)
  • Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

  • Full-time college student in good academic standing
  • Currently pursuing a relevant degree from an accredited academic institution
  • Team oriented, self- motivated, responsible person
  • Organizational skills and attention to detail a must

Ticket Sales & Service: Ticket Operations
Ticket Operations Manager - Springfield Falcons (Springfield, MA)

The Springfield Falcons of the American Hockey League, proud affliate of the Arizona Coyotes, currently have a full-time position available for Ticket Operations Manager. 

Job Summary:

The Manager of Ticket Operations will direct, manage and supervise the Falcons ticket office during hockey events and day to day operations.  Their duties will include cash control, ticket reporting, ticket inventory management, ticket distribution and event night reconciliations.  Also, responsibilities include building and maintaining hockey seasons and events as well as supervising game night ticket transactions at the box office and will call. This individual will be expected to handle customer service issues relating to seat locations, payments, and general guest experience.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Manage ticket office operations for team and arena with a focus on driving revenue with all ticket products.

• Responsible for all financial reporting relating to ticketing.

• Balance, deposit and report all weekly sales transactions.

• Process applications, payments, and payment plans.

• Work closely with the finance department to develop reports and reconcile discrepancies to ensure that records are processed in a timely manner to provide the most accurate information.

• Facilitate smooth relationship between ticket sales/group sales/corporate sales and ticket operations to ensure ease of sales process.

• Act as chief liaison for customer service inquiries on game nights, Ticketmaster, and box office.

• Establish and review operational policies and procedures for ticket office operations.

• Represent the department at weekly company management meetings and other meetings as necessary.

• Other duties as deemed necessary or as directed.

 

Required Knowledge/Skills/Job Qualifications:

• Advanced knowledge of computerized ticket sales, preferably the TicketMaster system.

• Significant successful compatible Ticket Office operations experience and/or business experience.

• Excellent skill in processing multiple payments and reconciling group ticket purchases.

• Strong math aptitude and ability to attend to detail.

• Proven effective management of multiple related areas.

• Demonstrated ability and experience developing and coordinating multi-faceted plans and issues.

• Proficient with Microsoft Office, with emphasis on Excel and Word.

• Demonstrated sound organizational, coordinating and personal interface skills.

• Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to successfully communicate with the public, other employees and vendors.

• Proven job reliability, diligence, and dedication.

• Must be flexible with working nights, weekends, and holidays.

 

Education and Formal Training:

• Bachelors Degree preferred.

• Advanced course on the TicketMaster ticketing and bar coding system.

• Proficient in Archtics software.

 

Experience:

• A minimum 4 years computerized box office management experience or any equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

Material and Equipment Used:

• Office equipment: copier, computer/keyboard, telephone, fax, and ticket printers.

• TicketMaster ticketing system.
